Vijay Iyer
Vijay Iyer (Rochester, October 26, 1971) is an American jazz pianist and composer. His playing and compositions connect avant-garde, pop and tradition, but also show influences from Indian music.
Vijay Iyer is the son of Indian immigrants. He received classical violin training at the age of 3 but soon switched to piano. While still a student, he worked with musicians such as Steve Coleman, George Lewis and David Wessel.
Uneasy
ECM has a nose for good music and understands how to make good recordings. You can hear that clearly in this double LP. The 10 tracks show exactly what Vijay is good at. His Indian roots can be heard in his music. Vijay plays bassist Linda May Han Oh and drummer Tyshawn Sorey on this double LP.
Rating
Just a decent audiophile product. All instruments can be followed individually. Good placement of the instruments. Sufficient stage and detail.
