The Maytals
The Maytals, later Toots & The Maytals, are the founders of Jamaican SKA and Reggae and were founded in 1962. The band leader is named Frederick "Toots" Hibbert. In 1968 they released the song Do the reggay. Reggae gets its name from that.
From the Roots
From the Roots is the seventh studio album by The Maytals. In their time, The Maytals were extremely popular in Jamaica. They scored 30 number 1 hits there. 14 titles of which 13 were written by Toots. The last song on the B side "give peace a chance" comes from Lennon and McCartney.
