Sophie Hutchings
Sophie Hutchings was born in Australia and grew up in a musical family. Lee Hutchings is a professional musician (saxophone) and her brothers Jamie (guitarist) and Scott also perform regularly.
Sophie herself plays the piano, keyboard and sings. Her compositions are difficult to capture in a genre. Sometimes great as film music than minimalistic, but always melancholic with repetitive themes. Sophie loves the water, swimming and surfing and her music is related to that. It comes as the waves of an ocean.
Scattered on the wind
This album was released 10 years after her debut album Becalmed. 11 beautiful compositions that range from neoclassical, minimalist to film music. Piano, keyboard, cello, violin and on Scattered on the wind part II a backing choir in which the music tends to be sacral.
Rating
Beautiful music that reaches the level of audiophile. The LP that we use for the assessment suffered from side taps that we think were due to our copy. Mastering was done by Zino Mikorey and Tim Whitten's recording at Tackdown Studio and Forbes Street Studios.
