Bessie Smith lived from 1895 to 1937 and is seen as one of the greatest blues interpreters of the twenties of the 20th century. She collaborated with jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins and Louis Armstrong. On this audiophile LP, a completely analogous production of Speakers Corner, La Vern Baker performs "Bessie Smith". We used the original analog masters and pressed 180 grams of virgin vinyl at Pallas in Germany. The beauty of this recording is that the instruments are nicely placed. Joe Marshall on drum stands behind La Vern Baker, very busy. Left and right of Lavern Baker the blazers. Delicious blues where I also notice some gospel.
