Jean-Luc Ponty
Jean-Luc Ponty is a French jazz violinist, born on September 29, 1942 in Avranches.
Ponty was the first violinist to go beyond playing swing. Jean-Luc is influenced by artists such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Clifford Brown. His first albums are mainly bebop. This shifts to jazz-rock and jazz fusion. He used electric violin and synthesizers, among other things.
Individual choice
The original release was in 1983. In addition to Jean-Luc, Randy Jackson on bass and Rayford Griffin on drums also play. 7 titles with synthesizer and violin by Jean-Luc, supplemented with bass, drums, organ and guitar from his band members from that time. As Jean-Luc noted 30 years later, DJs and other musicians used fragments from his music.
Judgement
Electronic music and the use of overdubbing usually does not result in an audiophile product. This LP is of reasonable quality, but does not quite reach that level.
