With its audiophile CDs and LPs, Lizz Wright is popular among audiophiles. Beautiful transparent recordings and a beautiful voice. A few years ago I was able to listen to Lizz Wright in real life (North Sea Jazz 2015). Lizz grew up in a small town of Georgia, where she learned to sing in the church. All kinds of influences can be heard in her music, from soul, folk and country. Because she has learned to sing in a church, it is therefore not surprising that gospel also resounds. I am a big fan (and that is of course personal) of her warm, penetrating voice. Beautiful album with beautiful details. The album is produced by Joe Henry.
