Lonely shadows
ECM has again managed to capture something special on the black vinyl for us. This recording made in the Auditorio Stelio Molo RSI in Lugano is a complete improvisation. Dominik wanted a solo album without having to prepare anything in advance. The creative process during the shoot had to do the work.
Review
Recognizable as an ECM recording in which the music and improvisations roll into the living room. A special feature is the AG76, a kind of homage to the Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński who makes special portraits with skulls and skeletons. With AG76 Dominik uses the so-called escapement lever in which the hammer goes off the string immediately after the keystroke and the string continues to vibrate.
