Cholet, Michel and Ithursarry
The names stand for Jean-Christophe Cholet, Matthieu Michel and Didier Ithursarry, piano, flugelhorn and accordion respectively. Matthieu and Jean-Christophe have been working together for 23 years and try to create something unique for every concert they give that is built together with the audience. The pair takes the recently joined Didier into this game between musicians and audience.
Cholet, Michel and Ithursarry
This concert was recorded live at the Bauer Studios on December 4, 2019. In addition to the audience present, the recording engineer also heard this for the first time and recording a live concert in full analog is a huge challenge. There are no second or third attempts, you have to get it right first time.
The combination of piano, accordion and flugelhorn is unusual and produces an interesting mix.
Review
This 180 grams limited version of a live to 2 tracks recording can be called very successful. Great details, timbre of the instruments (recorded with a combination of Neumann, Schoeps and Royer Labs microphones. With the applause you get an excellent picture of the room thanks to the Brüel & Kjær. The live experience is also almost live.
