Booker T. & the M.G.s
In my youth your world consisted of two camps. You were soul or rock, you bought a Yamaha, Kreidler, Zündapp or a Puch, you wore tight wide-leg trousers or jeans.
In terms of music, I belonged to the soul with artists such as The Commodores, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and certainly Booker T. & the M.G.s. Fortunately, in addition to Motown, we also had Stax and I went all out on Booker T's Hammond.
Green Onions
The original was released by Stax in 1962. It gives me great pleasure that Wax Time has re-released Green Onion, Booker T.'s debut LP. A nice detail is that the edition is green.
In addition to Green Onions, this swinging LP also contains two bonus tracks from the time when Booker T. & the M.G.s were still called The Mar-keys. If you want to understand what Memphis soul sounds like, buy this LP.
