Andre Weiss
Andre Weiss is a young pianist and composer who at the age of 16 has immersed himself in John Coltrane's "Giant steps". His site is still under development. At Studio Konzert he plays together with Ralph Moore, the jazz saxophonist born in 1956.
Studio Konzert
On this live direct to 2 track LP by Neuklang Andre Weiss plays with saxophonist Ralph Moore, supported by Jean-Philippe Wadle on double bass, Dominik Raab on drums. It is the first release under its own name and the fact that it was a "first takes only" made it extra exciting. They play well-known songs from Hank Mobley, Cedar Walton, Roy Hargrove and Joe Henderson.
Review
The Live direct-to-2-track recordings from Neuklang are pure. It has to go well first time because there is no redo. With the right setup and use of microphones, it will be something beautiful. The audience is very focused on what is to come. This version is also limited, individually numbered, pressed at 180 grams. Recorded on a Studer A820, the quality check was done on a Technics SL1200 G with Ortofon Cadenza Black MC.
